Hi, I'm Benji. I code to fix the little annoyances in my own life. I love that it lets me think abstractly, and that there are always new things to learn and read about.
Currently building a Chrome extension that copies the things I paste every day, like my LinkedIn URL, in one click.

Things I've built
Fantas.ai
I was tired of bouncing between Sleeper and ESPN to check my teams.

I play fantasy football on both Sleeper and ESPN, and checking on my teams meant bouncing between apps. The tools that pull everything together mostly sit behind a paywall, so I built my own.
It puts every team I own on one board, picks the best legal lineup for each league's rules (FLEX, Superflex, DEF), and ranks which free agents would actually beat one of my starters over the next four weeks.
Profiling showed the login check was calling Clerk's API on every request; limiting that to first-time users cut typical latency from 365 to 251 ms. An audit of every route that takes an ID closed a bug in five of them that could have shown someone a stranger's roster.
React • FastAPI • Postgres • Gemini • Clerk
Burnrate
Fantas.ai runs entirely on free tiers, and each one breaks something when you hit its limit.

Fantas.ai runs entirely on free tiers, and every provider has a different limit that breaks something when you hit it. Burnrate watches all of them in one place.
A small Python service on an Oracle Cloud VM checks Neon, Clerk, Vercel and Oracle every 15 minutes, keeps its own history, projects when each limit will be hit, and warns me on Discord while there's still time. A native Mac app built with Tauri shows it all at a glance.

Self-driving car
A simulated car that teaches itself to drive.
A reinforcement-learning project: I built a custom Gymnasium environment and trained PPO and DQN agents on it.
I shaped the rewards around staying centered in the lane, avoiding collisions and keeping up speed, until the agents ran off the track far less often.

Where I've worked
Aug 2026 – present · Morristown, NJBuilding full-stack features for an AI-assisted auto-claims intake app used by call-center agents.
Travelers Software Engineering Co-opI build full-stack features for an AI-assisted auto-claims intake app used by call-center agents, from streamed backend events through to the React cards they fill in.
I also set up Kubernetes scheduling on AWS EKS with Helm so our pods could run on an isolated node group for chaos testing.
Jul 2025 – Jun 2026 · New York, NYMoved the team from Poetry to uv, taking builds from minutes to seconds.
Marsh McLennan Software Engineering Co-opI maintained Python microservices (Pydantic, aiohttp) on AWS ECS, tightening request validation and error handling.
I moved the team from Poetry to uv, taking builds from minutes to seconds, and added security checks to our GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
Jan 2025 – Jun 2025 · Boston, MAAutomated a maturity-alert report for portfolio managers that used to be done by hand.
Longfellow Investment Management IT / Software Engineering Co-opI built Python and Power Query pipelines that pull and clean investment analytics for portfolio managers, and automated a maturity-alert report that used to be done by hand.
Sep 2024 – Dec 2024 · Boston, MAHeld office hours and reviewed code for a 400-student course on graphs, dynamic programming and complexity.
Northeastern University Teaching Assistant, CS3000 Algorithms and DataI held office hours and reviewed code for a 400-student course on graphs, dynamic programming and complexity.
